Yuga Labs has expanded its digital art presence by merging with PROOF Collective just four days ago, incorporating Moonbirds, Oddities, Mythics, and Grails into its already impressive portfolio.
Following this acquisition, Moonbirds’ trading volume has reached $2,595,445 (884.75 ETH) over the past 24 hours, marking a significant increase of 59.5%. The number of transactions surged by an impressive 56.8%, as per CoinGecko.
Surpassingly, the NFT project’s floor price rapidly surged by approximately 80.65% to $7,551.56 (2.57 ETH) from $4,180.27 (1.4 ETH) after the announcement. Backed by a trading volume of $3,749,500.48 (1,276 ETH), its sudden rise showcases strong market enthusiasm and the weight of collaborative endeavors.
Moonbirds’ Origins and Magnetism
Moonbirds, initiated by Kevin Rose — a figure celebrated for his roles in Digg and the Proof Collective — debuted the NFT project on April 16, 2022. It swiftly garnered 100,000 ETH in resales, establishing a strong presence in the NFT market.
In a gesture of generosity, Rose initially released 2,000 NFTs to PROOF members, followed by a public launch. A unique lottery system allocated 7,875 pieces to pre-selected participants, while 125 of these collectibles were set aside for upcoming projects and partnerships.
Designed by PROOF’s co-founder, Justin Mezzell, Moonbirds draws inspiration from notable projects such as CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club, enhancing its allure and rarity through pixel-art aesthetics.
Notably, however, the NFTs have evolved beyond mere pixel art and scarcity, previously partnering with Spotify for an exclusive NFT-gated music playlist, introducing intriguing rewards programs, and establishing a community hub, among other engaging incentives.
Moonbirds maintains its stronghold in the NFT market, now spearheading innovation through the collaborative efforts of Yuga Labs and PROOF Collective.
