It seems this week has been one of stiff competition among NFT collections. Just days after CryptoPunks briefly overtook the Bored Ape Club in floor price, Solana-based NFT project, DeGods, has also seen an amazing leap.
In a historical move, DeGods is now among the top 5 PFP NFT collections in the world. With this, it beats out top collections like Doodles and Azuki, which are mainstays in the industry.
DeGods on the Rise
This is the first time that a Solana-based project has achieved such a feat and now only has the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, Moonbirds, and the Mutant Ape Yacht Club to compete with.
This is an impressive feat not just for Solana-based projects but also because DeGods is such a new NFT collection, having only debuted in October 2021. But through a combination of impressive artwork (the DeGods pieces are famously very intricate and show its main character in all sorts of outfits and situations) and deliberate community engagement, it has risen to the top of the industry.
The team behind DeGods has also announced that it will be launching a new collection soon, called Y00ts, with its whitelisting stage currently ongoing. Needless to say, we will be seeing a lot of the DeGods ecosystem moving forward.
