Annie Yi Releases Inclusive NFTs

Annie Yi is one of the biggest names in the Taiwanese entertainment industry, having made a name for herself as a singer and actress. Now, she is making a name for herself and her son, artist Harrison Yu, in the web3 space. This comes as the duo has launched an NFT project called “Theirsverse”.

The project, launched earlier this year, was a success upon its release and had the theme of inclusivity. As they explain in a recent interview, the goal of the project was to offer an avenue for creatives of different identities and backgrounds to be seen.

Since the NFT collection launched, it has seen massive success within the industry, selling out soon after release and currently having a floor price of 0.219 ETH. Just last month, Sotheby’s auctioned two of its NFTs from the collection and once again, there was a positive market response.

Speaking to the Forkast, the mother and son duo explained that while many current NFT collections exist to serve other groups, Yu, who is a gay man, felt that there was nothing of the sort for the LGBT community.

Last year, my son decided to start this project. He found that in Web3, there’s this NFT community like BAYC showing the manpower and World of Women showing the woman power. But there is no LGBT community for the younger generation,” Yi said.

Let’s just hope that this inspires even more collections that spotlight the LGBT community.
