Man City launches its second batch of free NFTs through the ‘Unseen City Shirts’ web3 initiative with OKX tomorrow at 9.59 am (BST), transforming the iconic Man City 23/24 shirt into limited-edition digital collectibles.
The ‘Blue Moon NFTs’ continue the success of their inagural ‘The Roses and the Bees‘ series, which saw 67,328 assets claimed in under five hours. The Blue Moon name references Man City’s Roblox metaverse, which ran from July 14 to September 26, 2022.
Various rarity levels are expected for these upcoming NFTs, with some categorized as Rare and Ultra-Rare, offering exclusive Manchester City rewards.
Rarity details for each NFT will be announced after the claiming period ends on May 3. Prize distribution information will be emailed to NFT holders within 14 business days.
A Game-Changer for Fan Engagement
Each NFT—part of the Unseen City Shirts program—is designed to be non-transferable, unsellable, and non-tradable, underscoring their exclusivity.
Man City’s The Roses and the Bees was a collaboration with concept kit designer Christian Jeffery. It featured designs inspired by Manchester’s iconic Lancaster rose and worker bee, symbols of the city’s heritage and dynamic spirit. The collection was a huge success, selling out on the OKX digital marketplace in just five hours.
Although little details about the Blue Moon NFTs are yet to be revealed, those lucky enough to secure one of The Roses and Bees Rare collectibles will shortly be endowed with a distinctive jersey, as well as hospitality tickets and an exclusive tour of the club’s stadium.
Since 2022, Manchester City and OKX have enjoyed a successful partnership, with OKX now as the club’s official partner. The Man City Unseen City Shirts initiative showcases their close collaboration on the OKX NFT marketplace, reflecting the strength of their alliance.
Man City has also recently teamed up with Quidd, a digital collectible platform, to offer over 200 NFT cards featuring current and former players, along with iconic moments from the club’s history. Some cards will grant real-world rewards like merchandise, tickets, and exclusive experiences such as first-team training sessions.
