Ubisoft has captured widespread attention by introducing “Warlord NFTs” ahead of its highly anticipated release of “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles” set for 2024.
Following the hype, Warlord NFTs — embodying the game’s pixel-based avatar-styled heroes — have generated over $4.5 million since 9,999 of these assets were distributed to the public via a free mint on December 18.
All freebie NFTs were snatched up within 20 minutes by select patrons. Since then, more than 4,000 out of the batch have been purchased on secondary marketplaces, like OpenSea. Although, it appears the majority of original collectors are retaining their Warlords for gameplay.
To date, the most expensive “The Warlords of Champions Tactics” NFT to sell “#4055” for a mighty $4,194.39. However, the average price for one of these digital assets stands at a more reasonable price of $560.
Unveiling Champions Tactics and Warlord NFTs Fervor
Warlords are exclusive pixel-style champions equipped with weapons. Ubisoft has introduced an innovative feature that allows holders of a Warlord NFT in their crypto wallet to access the game’s future mints for playable in-game characters. Holders of these assets will have the privilege of minting five Champions Tactics characters at an undisclosed future date.
In contrast to Warlords NFTs, the Champions Tactics game will be deployed on the Ethereum-compatible Oasys chain. It’s projected that 9,999 Warlords NFTs will be generated, with 1,000 to be gifted to the Oasys community and 999 set aside for Ubisoft’s forthcoming marketing initiatives.
Ubisoft’s foray into the NFT market underscores the vast potential of intertwining gaming and blockchain technology. Given the spectacular success of the Warlord NFTs, both gamers and investors are eagerly anticipating Ubisoft’s future Champions Tactics game and NFT offerings.
