VALORANT may be a free-to-play game, but its monetization model is based on skins and cosmetic items. There’s more than a single way to unlock these items, though, and paying for them is often the fastest.

It’s entirely possible to follow a budget-friendly approach while collecting skins–and that’s where the Night Market comes in. The Night Market allows players to pick up cosmetic items at a discount. The skins showcased in the Night Market will be picked at random, and players will need to get lucky to land their favorite skins. Players will have a choice of up to six skins from a variety of bundles for different weapons.

Even though you won’t be able to reroll any of the items, you’ll be able to get a second chance since the VALORANT Night Market returns every two months.

When the Night Market arrives in VALORANT, it tends to stay up for around two weeks, giving just enough time for players to purchase the skins they would like to collect.

When is VALORANT’s next Night Market?

The 16th Night Market in VALORANT will commence on June 6 and end on June 29, Riot announced on May 31.

Usually, Night Markets go live during the last two-three weeks of an Episode’s Act. For example, Episode Six, Act Two’s Night Market was added on April 5, 2023, and left the game on April 25, 2023, the last day of the Act.

According to the in-game timer, VALORANT’s Episode Six, Act Three will end on June 27, 2023, paving the way for a new Episode. Following the usual trend for Night Markets, June 7, 2023, is a sweet date for a start, close to three weeks before the Act’s end.

How does Night Market in VALORANT work?

Image via Riot Games

Once the Night Market begins, you’ll see a black, rectangular box on the top-right of the game’s page. Click on it, and you’ll be presented with six color-coded cards, each hiding a gun/knife skin and a corresponding discounted price. Interact with the cards to reveal the offers you earned.

Night Market hosts skins at discounts ranging from 10 to 49 percent, unlike the Daily Store, which offers skins at their base price. The discounts vary and may not always impress you.

You can distinguish the type of skin behind the card before revealing it by the card’s color: blue is for Select Edition gun skins, green is for Deluxe Edition gun skins, pink is for Premium Edition gun skins, and yellow is for knife skins.

You can expect at least two knife skins or two Premium Edition skins in a Night Market. Also, no more than two skins of the same weapon can appear.

Note each player receives a unique set of offers. It’s likely you and your friend will receive completely different skins and associated discounts from each other. Also, you may not receive the weapon skin you always wanted: be prepared to be disappointed.

You cannot reroll Night Market skins. So, if you don’t unveil the skins of your choice, the only option you have is to wait for the next Night Market: it’s a game of luck.

How long does a Night Market last in VALORANT?

Night Markets last for a few weeks before being rotated out of the game. Once revealed, the offers will be available for you to grab until the store leaves–you will have enough time to plan your purchase.

From VALORANT’s release in 2020 until 2022, the Night Market stayed in the game for a maximum of two weeks or 14 days. Riot, however, deviated from the trend for Episode Five, Act Three’s Night Market, which remained in the game for almost a month.

Ever since then, the time frame for the temporary store has seen an increase–both Episode Six, Act One, and Episode Six, Act Two hosted their Night Markets for 20 days. The upcoming store is expected to remain for the same time frame.
