As the timeless concept of physical trading cards continues to merge itself into the digital realm, world leading football media platform OneFootball has forged a global partnership deal with Italy’s top tier, Serie A.
The partnership will allow Serie A’s 530 million global fan base to begin collecting, owning, and trading iconic on-pitch moments from the league’s ongoings, whether that be goals, tackles, passes, shots, saves, or unforgettable celebrations. Of course, such moments will be digitalized and ‘carded’ through the medium of blockchain technology and NFTs.
The partnership also extends into providing officially licensed cards that are based on two other Italian domestic trophies, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, as well as historic and iconic archival moments from Italian football.
On August 1st, a full product reveal will take place for the Official Video Moment NFTs for the 2022/23 season. The collection will then drop on the OneFootball Aera Marketplace on August 29th for early access customers, before being released to the public on September 5th. The trading cards will be available for purchase in the form of NFT packs. Fans can now register their intent in becoming an early access customer here.
All NFTs which are born from the partnership will reside on Flow, the chosen blockchain for other digital asset collections from the NFL, NBA, and more.
