North American esports organisation NRG Esports has announced a partnership with ASUS Republic of Gamers, the gaming-focused sub-brand of Taiwanese hardware manufacturer ASUS.
As expected, the partnership will be focused on peripherals. NRG Esports players will be equipped with ROG keyboards, mice, headsets, and mousepads for competitions and content creation throughout 2023.
Interestingly, ROG and NRG previously partnered back in 2017, when the electronics brand joined NRG’s roster as one of its first commercial partners.
Similar to competitors such as Acer’s Predator or Gigabyte Aorus, ASUS ROG is focused on creating peripherals and PC components aimed at gamers. The brand was first created in 2006 and has supported numerous esports teams and events in the past. ROG typically sits at the top of ASUS’ consumer offering, above the likes of ROG Strix and TUF, the company’s two other two sub-brands.
Founded in 2016, NRG Esports is a well-known esports brand from North America. The organisation currently competes in Apex Legends and Rocket League and is also the owner of Overwatch League Franchise San Francisco Shock. NRG’s VALORANT roster is also one of the ten partner teams competing in the VCT Americas international league.
The partnership with ASUS ROG will see NRG players equipped with gaming peripherals such as mice, headsets, and keyboards from the ROG lineup. The two brands did not mention any financial details of the partnership.
NRG CEO, Andy Miller, commented on the partnership: “In 2017, ROG took a chance on little NRG Esports and signed up to be our exclusive desktop, laptop, and monitor provider. It is so gratifying to fast forward five-plus years as two powerhouse gaming brands reconnect.
