It seems that the recent wave of crypto uncertainty has signalled the more malevolent creatures to emerge from the shadows, as the mischievous host of Goblin Town crawled out of the murky depths to unleash their own brand of chaos on the blockchain.
In the week since the discovery of the new realm of Goblin Town, the inhabitants have met with intrigue and confusion in equal measure, sending a shockwave of befuddlement through the NFT space with their mischievous wit and anarchic demeanour. No more demonstrated than by a three-hour Twitter space consisting entirely of nonsensical ‘goblin speak’.

During these dark times however, Goblin Town has breathed a little fresh air into the blockchain world. Bucking the general trend, by deploying via a 100% free mint and proudly declaring “No roadmap. No Discord. No utility”. Since that launch however, Goblin Town has become the best performing collection in the space, turning an incredible 9.4k in ETH ($17.5 million), and reaching a grand floor price of 2.15 ETH ($2k).
The swift emergence and sleek deployment of this band of renegade troublemakers has set the rumour mill turning however, with speculation rife as to the true identity and agenda of the team involved. So far, theories range from the well-oiled machine that is Yuga Labs, to Beavis and Butthead creator, Mike Judge. Whatever happens, these anarchic creatures from the deep will likely continue to confuse and entertain for some time to come.
