Ark: Survival Ascended will no longer be included with Ark 2, but will be more expensive: details

Ark: Survival Ascended will now be sold separately but will be more expensive. Last week, the dinosaur survival game’s developers confirmed that Ark 2 was delayed until the end of 2024 – which isn’t surprising, considering we haven’t seen any footage yet. At the same time, the studio announced a standalone Unreal Engine 5 remaster, which would be available in August as a $49.99 (roughly Rs. 4,098) bundle, along with access to Ark 2. However, following fan backlash last week, the team has now decided to sell the remastered version separately for $59.99 (around Rs 4,198), on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. extensions that were originally to be sold separately will now be included in the package.

Previously, it was assumed that Studio Wildcard would provide the Ark remaster as a free upgrade. “Originally, when we first considered upgrading to Unreal 5, we were just planning to port the Nintendo Switch version of the game and remove the ‘graphics’ limitations required for that hardware,” says the blog. “We weren’t going to maximize the potential of new technology, we weren’t going to introduce new gameplay changes, and we weren’t going to make critical design changes that impacted existing save data. ” After careful consideration, the developers decided that this was the “best result” and explained why the upgrade simply could not be implemented on the existing Ark game.

The Last of Us Part I PC Review

Studio Wildcard claimed that the changes they had in store for us simply wouldn’t be viable – it would invalidate save data, render some mods inoperable, and cause gameplay imperfections. This is also one of the reasons the team plans to take the official ASE network – the servers – offline on August 31, essentially killing the existing playerbase as they are forced to purchase the new remaster. Savegames will be available for use on unofficial servers and player-hosted sessions, in addition to single-player functionality.

Since Ark 2 is only targeting a PC, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox Game Pass release, the PS5 version of Ark: Survival Ascended was initially priced at $39.99 (roughly Rs. 3,278). (The bundle did not include access to Ark 2.) But now the game will be the same price on all platforms, bringing modernized graphics, photo mode, Nvidia DLSS support, character creation and customization, cross-platform multiplayer, and more. That said, here’s the full list of “integrated” content to expect from Ark: Survival Ascended, along with their launch windows:

  • The Island (exit at launch)
  • Survival of the Fittest: Island and Scorched Earth map variants (released at launch)
  • Scorched Earth (Released at launch)
  • Aberration (Released Q4 2023)
  • Extinction (Released Q1 2024)

  • Genesis Part 2 (Released Q2 2024)
  • All community created maps are also to be released over time in 2024 (Fjordur, Ragnarok, The Center, Lost Island, Valguero, Crystal Isles)

Ark: Survival Ascended will be released in August on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Meanwhile, Ark 2 will release separately in late 2024 on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox Game Pass.
