vivo launched the Y11 with a 4″ LCD, 5MP main camera and 1700mAh battery in 2014 and followed up with a new model in October 2019, featuring a modern design and better specs. Over three years old later, vivo unveiled the Y11 2023 version, expected with different design and hardware.

The front of the vivo Y11 (2023) resembles the 2019 model since the Chinese phone maker is still stuck with the dated teardrop notch, which now houses a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera instead of one. 8MP f/1.8 unit the Y11 (2019) had. However, the screen diagonal has increased from 6.35″ to 6.51″, but it is still a 60Hz LCD with HD+ resolution.

That said, unlike the 2019 model, the 2023 version of the Y11 comes with flat bezels and a flat rear panel, which sports a rectangular camera island with a large circle housing the 8MP main camera and LED flash. The 2019 Y11 featured a dual-camera setup on the rear featuring 13 MP main units and 2 MP depth units. It’s also been joined by a fingerprint reader, which we don’t have on the 2023 model. And that’s not because it’s built into the power button, but because vivo has it completely ignored.

The vivo Y11 (2019) comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 SoC under the hood, while the Y11 (2023) has MediaTek’s Helio P35 chip at the helm with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. expandable up to 1TB via microSD card. The smartphone runs OriginOS Ocean based on Android 12 and packs a 5,000mAh battery that draws power through a microUSB port at up to 10W like the Y11 (2019).
