Not to be outdone by Best Buy, even stores that only carry one Chromebook Plus model – like Target – are getting in on the discount action. While we’ve seen some pretty deep discounts (and a significantly discounted Chromebook) at Best Buy on the Chromebook Plus models so far, we haven’t yet seen many price reductions on these new Chromebooks outside of the efforts of Best Buy. .
But that changes today because Target is now selling the ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 for just $279.99, which is $120 off the standard MSRP of $399.99. Of course, Target isn’t selling a ton of Chromebooks yet, but they might start moving more devices once they see how well devices like the ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34 can sell.

If you sign up for Target’s Red Card (you can link it to your checking account for this; you don’t need another credit card), you can also save 5% on this and future purchases purchases. This will drop the price another $14, so you could get one of the best new Chromebooks on the market for just $265. Even with the holiday shopping season approaching, this kind of deal is pretty ridiculous. But don’t wait long: We don’t see Chromebook deals at Target too often, and we have no idea how long this one will last.
