Continuing to be a major threat to our main pair, it looks like the series is taking another major departure from the 2013 video game, giving the villains some character building ahead of the eventual stalemate. It’s not entirely clear why Kathleen hunts Henry, but it’s implied Henry has something to do with her brother’s death.

Joel seems to trust him with the gun now.

The footage also appears to highlight the final showdown between Kathleen and Henry. “It ends how it ends,” says Kathleen. Last month, HBO renewed the show for a second season, which will explore the events of The Last of Us Part II game. Showrunner Craig Mazin also suggested that the story is “more than a TV season”.
