Netflix’s The Killer Release Date, Cast, Plot and Trailer
David Fincher is back, and this time he brings Michael Fassbender with him (whose long absence as an actor has been painful for many fans). The director and actor returns in the neo-noir film The Killer, based on the French comic of the same title.
The Killer seems to be Fincher’s dream project, since the director has been attached to the film since 2007. At the time, Paramount wanted to take the film under its wing, but the collaboration ultimately fell through. Fortunately, Netflix was interested in the adaptation. That should come as no surprise, considering Fincher created the movie Mank for the platform and collaborated on the House of Cards, Love, Death & Robots, and Mindhunter series.
Find out when The Killer will be available to stream and what the story will be about.
The Killer release date
David Fincher’s new film premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival in early September. However, everyone else will have to wait. The Killer hits select theaters on Friday, October 27, but will be available on Netflix on Friday, November 10, 2023.

The plot of the killer
The Killer is based on the comic created by writer Lexis ‘Matz’ Nolnet and illustrator Luc Jacamon. It tells the story of an (initially) anonymous assassin who prides himself on his exceptional efficiency and professionalism. However, due to a mental breakdown, he begins to question his actions as well as the world he lives in. After one of his missions ends badly, the killer is the subject of an international manhunt.
As the movie description says:
Lonely, cold, methodical and without scruples or regrets, a killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. However, the longer he waits, the more he feels like he is losing his head, even his temper.
The movie’s connecting line reads:
After a fateful near miss, an assassin fights his employers and himself in an international manhunt that he believes is not personal.
