Of the 900 PlayStation employees who lost their jobs in yesterday’s layoffs, it was reported that around 40 of them – or 10% of the developer’s workforce – were from the Horizon Forbidden team West, Guerrilla Games. The Dutch media AD announced that the layoffs at Guerrilla Games concerned “ten percent of the staff, or around forty of the more than four hundred employees”, according to sources.

Chanté Goodman, the developer’s senior community manager, was affected by the layoffs and wrote about Twitter: “It’s been an honor to work at Guerrilla, with such fantastic talent. To the Horizon community, I’m sorry this happened, but I want you to know that I would have been with you all the way.”

She continues: “Working as CM over the past few years has been my greatest privilege. The streams and GAIA Cast have been among my absolute highlights, and you have always been exceptionally welcoming, funny and kind.”

Layoffs at PlayStation also affected Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games and Firesprite, the latter having its long rumor Twisted metal match canceled. London Studio, the team behind The Getaway and Blood & Truth, has been shut down entirely. Its fantasy-based online cooperative game, teased a few years ago, will no longer be launched, just like a few other projects canceled by Sony.
