Shortly before, Evo Japan 2024 broadcast its second day on Twitch and YouTube. During the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising finale, Evo Japan 2024 Twitch streams were suddenly taken offline.
It turns out that all of Evo’s Twitch streams were suddenly banned without warning. Viewers were simply told that the channel was unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, although the nature of that violation wasn’t exactly clear.
Some members of the fighting game community have speculated that this was an automatic ban due to a lack of moderation in Twitch chat.
Luckily, those watching on Twitch were able to switch to the Evo Japan 2024 YouTube live streams to watch the conclusion of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising event taking place there. This was a huge moment for the community as it was the first time a champion was crowned at an Evo event for GBVSR.
Of course, Streamer bans ensured that the ban of one of Twitch’s partners was documented and archived. From there we learn a little more information.
It turns out that the ban against EVOJapan01 only lasted 41 minutes. This was the first time the account was banned since StreamerBans started tracking EVOJapan01 from July 28, 2019.

Before too long, the Evo Japan official Twitter account released a statement in Japanese that gives us an idea of what appears to have happened.
According to Google Translate, this issue is caused by a “connection issue” rather than a problem with the stream itself. It was also noted that more official details would be announced later.
Regardless, it looks like the issue is resolved as Evo Japan is back on Twitch. We likely won’t see the issue reoccur on the third day of the event later this evening.
