Becoming a billionaire may be just a pipe dream for those who think you have to be born rich, but a new study reveals it could depend on when you were born.
The United States is home to most of the world’s billionaires, with 189 people residing within its borders, while China comes in second, with just 53 people living in the country.
A new study has found that 19 of the world’s nearly 500 billionaires have one thing in common: they were born November 30.
These wealthy and successful individuals include publishing moguls, industry masters, and film producers.
Becoming a billionaire may be just a pipe dream for those who think you have to be born rich, but a new study reveals it could depend on when you were born.

A new study reveals that 19 of the world’s top 500 billionaires have one thing in common: they were born on November 30.
The financial experts at Coupon Follow examined data from Bloomberg’s Top 500 Billionaires list.
They studied each person’s industry and date of birth to narrow down commonalities that might have contributed to their success.
The company found that this date was the most popular, saying it “was well ahead of other birth dates.”
But if you’re worried that you just missed the threshold, Coupon Follow says not to worry because October also happened to be the most popular birth month for billionaires.
“If you’re worried about not having this exact date for your future child, then you’re in luck,” Coupon Follow said in its press release, adding that 45 out of 500 billionaires were born in October.
Advance Publications owner Donald Newhouse ranks 115th among the 500 richest billionaires, but holds the top spot for those born on November 30, with a net worth of $15.8 billion.
Goh Cheng Liang founded paint and coatings manufacturer Wuthelam Holdings in Singapore. He ranked 183rd overall, but ranks second for most popular birthday and has a net worth of $11.1 billion.

American film producer Diane Hendricks (left) has a net worth of $10.4 billion. Gong Hongjia (right), vice president of security equipment supplier Hikvision in China, has a net worth of $10.8 billion.
The third and fourth places are held by Gong Hongjia, vice president of security equipment supplier Hikvision in China, and American film producer Diane Hendricks, each with a net worth of 10.8 billion and 10.4 billion dollars, respectively.
Coupon Follow reported that January 1 was the only date that came close, with 13 billionaires born on that day, but all other dates listed revealed that only between two and four billionaires shared that birthday.
This information comes less than a week into 2024, following a Statista survey that found more than half of people between the ages of 18 and 64 prioritize saving more money for their New Year’s resolution.
While that may seem like a lofty goal, a separate survey from Forbes Health found that the average New Year’s resolution lasts just 3.74 months, with only 1% of people sticking to it for the entire calendar year.
This year could be the perfect opportunity to test the results of Coupon Follows and see if the October and November 30 babies will fall into the 1 percent.
