Demand for iPhone 14 likely to be higher than iPhone 13 in China: Ming-Chi Kuo

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 may see greater demand in the Chinese market than its predecessor the iPhone 13. The analyst in a Twitter thread said that his latest survey reports that some distributors, retailers and resellers must pay the highest prepaid deposit ever for the next Apple smartphone to ensure sufficient supply. A recent report had said that the new iPhone 14 is expected to come with a 3279mAh battery and the iPhone 14 Pro may get a 3200mAh battery.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for TF International Securities, said share in a Twitter thread that the iPhone 14 could see stronger demand in the Chinese market than its predecessor the iPhone 13, according to the analyst’s latest survey. Some Chinese distributors, retailers and resellers are reportedly paying the highest ever prepaid deposit for Apple’s next smartphone to ensure sufficient supply.

The analyst said this implies that demand for the smartphone will be higher than expected in China. Kuo added that at present, the prepaid deposit of iPhone 14 is significantly higher than that of iPhone 13, which can reach double the normal prepaid amount in some regions of China. The analyst said component vendors’ iPhone 14 shipment forecast is around 100 million units and EMS is around 90 million units for the second of 2022. Kuo goes on to saying strong smartphone demand may reduce market concerns about iPhone risk. 13 orders cut after launch.

According to a previous report, the iPhone 14 series is expected to come with larger batteries than the iPhone 13 series. The iPhone 14 was designed to launch with a 3279mAh battery and the iPhone 14 Pro may come with a 3200 mAh battery. iPhone 14 Max is said to have a 4325mAh battery and on the other hand, iPhone 14 Pro Max can come with a 4323mAh battery.
