CoinStats Reports Security Breach, 1,590 Wallets Compromised

CoinStats, a cryptocurrency and NFT portfolio manager, has reported a security breach affecting 1,590 crypto wallets, equivalent to about 1.3% of its user base.

According to the company’s statement on X, the attack has been contained, and they are currently investigating the incident to understand its full scope. The breach was discovered on June 22, prompting CoinStats to suspend user activity temporarily.

The company further clarified that none of the connected wallets and centralized exchanges were impacted by the breach.

CoinStats Security Measures

As a precautionary step, CoinStats has taken its website offline and advised affected users—listed in the shared Google document—to transfer their funds using exported private keys immediately. It was noted that while the investigation continues, there is a possibility that the list of affected wallets “might change”, but significant changes are unlikely.

Amidst these efforts, concerns have been raised within the crypto community about potential scams targeting affected users. Community members have warned against sharing personal information with unauthorized parties claiming to assist with the breach.

As of June 24 at 13:41 UTC, CoinStats has announced that their services are back online. However, not all functionalities are active and the team is slowly activating them to ensure a smooth and stable experience for everyone.

The company shared that further announcement covering all the details of the incidents will be published soon. For more updates, follow CoinStats on X.
