Delhi Crime season 2 release date is finally here. On Friday, Netflix India announced that the Shefali Shah-directed crime drama will return for its second run on August 26, complete with a trailer and first photos. That’s a gap of more than three years between seasons. The Delhi Crime season 2 trailer is very light on details, but thanks to a synopsis revealed earlier, we know that DCP Vartika Chaturvedi (Shah) and his team – newly promoted Neeti Singh (Rasika Dugal) and Bhupendra Singh (Rajesh Tailang) – will go after a “gang of heinous killers” who target the “vulnerable elderly” of the city.
As the Delhi Crime season 2 trailer notes, there is a class and economic difference between the two. “Much of Delhi’s population lives in slums and serves the elite who live in palaces,” Chaturvedi says at the start of the Delhi Crime season 2 trailer. As the number of murders mounts – the synopsis also spoke of a “violent quadruple murder” – the pressure mounts on Chaturvedi and Co., with his superior CP Kumar Vijay (Adil Hussain) saying he can no longer “ protect her “. ”
As Chaturvedi wonders what they’re doing wrong in another scene, Bhupendra reminds him that they “don’t have the luxury of thinking about it.” In addition to Shah, Dugal, Tailang, and Hussain, Delhi Crime Season 2 also features Anurag Arora, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Gopal Dutt, Tillotama Shome, and Jatin Goswami – all returning to reprise their respective roles.

While much of the main cast is in place, there has been a shake-up behind the scenes in Delhi Crime Season 2. Even though creator, writer and director Richie Mehta helped Netflix land its first international Emmy with Delhi Crime season 1, he was sidelined in season 2. Although Mehta retains his creator credit, the Indian filmmaker -American Tanuj Chopra (Punching at the Sun) took the reins as director and showrunner. And while Netflix didn’t mention director Rajesh Mapuskar (Fan) in the press release, his name is included in an official tweet.
Meanwhile, three screenwriters – Mayank Tewari (Bard of Blood), Shubhra Swarup (The Forgotten Army) and Ensia Mirza (Ghost Stories) – take over Mehta’s screenplay duties, along with Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh (Prime Video’s Unpaused) and Virat Basoya (Kya Haal, M. Paanchal?) responsible for the dialogues. Will this Delhi Crime Season 2 Six Committee continue in the vein of what Mehta did so well in Season 1?
All episodes of Delhi Crime Season 2 will be released on 26th August on Netflix in India and worldwide. The second season is a production of SK Global Entertainment, Golden Karavan and Film Karavan.
