Fast & Furious 9 is now available on Amazon Prime Video in India. Entitled “F9: The Fast Saga”, director Justin Lin’s latest action blockbuster can now be streamed on the platform in Full HD (1080p). The American film was released in five Indian languages - English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu – with no word on Malayalam dubbing. Subtitles are available in English and Hindi, with a download button for offline viewing on phones and tablets. To download the movie on PC, you will need to install the Prime Video app from the Microsoft Store.
Prior to the release of Prime Video, F9: The Fast Saga was available for rental and purchase as a VoD (video on demand) title through Apple Movies, Google Play Movies, BookMyShow Stream, and YouTube Movies. Fast & Furious 9 sees Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his Fast team attempting to neutralize an international terrorist, who turns out to be his and Mia’s (Jordanna Brewster) estranged brother, Jakob Torretto, played by John Cena (The Suicide Squad) . The plot then turns into a relentless game of cat and mouse between the long-lost brothers, putting family bonds to the test.
Fast & Furious 9 review: F9 is the most complete Fast & Furious, but still feels incomplete
The popularity of the latest Fast & Furious movie was fueled in part – sorry, I had to – through social media, the absurd amount of “Family” memes and the absurd sets, including one that took Tej (Ludacris ) and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) in outer space. F9 also marks Cena’s foray into the globe-trotting action franchise, as he will reprise his role in the upcoming Fast X, now directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) after Lin quit over creative differences. .
The OTT release of Fast & Furious 9 comes a year after the film had a better pandemic opening in the United States. It went on to collect a total of $726.2 million (about Rs 6,089 crore) at the global box office. Currently, F9 holds an average critic score of 59% on Rotten Tomatoes. On Metacritic, the film has an average critic score of 58%.
The tenth main installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X, is currently in production. Headlining Diesel and Cena, Fast X also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron and Jason Statham as protagonists.
Earlier this year, the franchise added Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Daniela Melchior (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) and Rita Moreno in the line-up.
Fast & Furious 9 is now streaming on Prime Video in India in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. Fast X is slated for release May 19, 2023 in theaters worldwide.
