Dakota Johnson is ‘excited’ to star in upcoming feature film Madame Web because not much is known about this character, which gives her the freedom to make her “very cool”. The actress added that she always wanted to star in a massive action movie, like the IndianaJones franchise, something that made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) more memorable. She, however, didn’t reveal anything about the character’s graphic or the Madame Web ground.
Johnson told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m so excited. I’ve always dreamed of making some sort of massive action movie. I always wanted to be, like, a woman IndianaJones. It’s pretty cool to be in the Marvel world, especially with a character that’s not that well known. So there’s a lot of space for us to make it really cool.
Besides Johnson, the Madame Web The cast would include Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Isabela Merced and Taher Rahin in key roles. The Fifty Shades of Gray actress recently teased that some of the actors who appeared in the comedy-dramas Cha Cha Real Smooth and Am I OK? – produced by her – will be part of the Spider-Man spin-off film.
Johnson told Collider: “The people of ‘Cha Cha [Real Smooth]’ and some of ‘Am I okay?’ arrive at Madame Web with me. It’s cool. It’s fun to be able to start building a real team of people who make movies.”
SJ Clarkson directs Johnson in Madame Webfrom a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Kerem Sanga is credited with writing a previous project.
Madame Web is slated to be Sony’s fifth entry Spider Man Universe that began with the release of Tom Hardy in 2018 Venom and includes its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the Jared Leto-directed box office bombshell Morbiusand the not yet released Kraven the hunter.
Madame Webwith Johnson in the lead, is set for release on July 7, 2023.
