Smash hit hero shooter Marvel Rivals announced a new limited-time mode called Giant-Sized Brain Blast, launching on April 25th.
This new party mode will see all characters with inflated heads for silly and chaotic matches, alongside offering limited-time rewards such as titles, emotes, and more during Season 2: Hellfire Gala.
The announcement was made on X by the official Marvel Rivals account on April 22nd, 2025.
In the post, the account said: “Heads up – literally! Introducing Giant-Size Brain Blast, the most mind-blowing mode in Marvel Rivals! Get in, get huge, and get your name on that leaderboard. Score free event-exclusive titles and an emote just for playing.
“Starting April 25th, everyone’s rocking oversized noggins and even bigger plays. Big heads, big fights, BIG FUN.”
There will be leaderboards based on ratings for each character in the game. These leaderboards will reset every event round, which will offer a clean slate for new players to earn a top spot for their favourite character. However, this mode is not competitive enough to hit the esports scene.
During the trailer, the in-game description said: “After each event round, players ranked in the Top 10, Top 100, and Top 500 will receive the corresponding reward [Titles].
Title rewards will be automatically credited to your account, so keep an eye on your mail for the reward notification. Once claimed, titles can be equipped via Career – Customize – Title.”
These are the rewards available to earn based on rankings, which reset each event round.
- Top 10: Planet-Sized-Brain [Chosen Character]
- Top 100: Monster-Sized-Brain [Chosen Character]
- Top 1000: Giant-Sized-Brain [Chosen Character]
There will also be Brain-Blast emotes available for each character, which you can earn and redeem for a chosen hero after completing 10 matches in the new mode. As you can imagine, the emote inflates your character’s head to similar proportions as seen in the new game mode.
This isn’t the first time we’ve had limited-time modes in Marvel Rivals, following the previous season’s Clone Rumble, and last year’s Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival shortly after the game first launched.
The smash hit game has also seen a variety of limited-time in-game tournaments as well, such as the seasonal Marvel Rivals Championships, and the recently announced monthly PlayStation Cups. So, whether you’re looking for competitive or chaotic fun, this month has plenty to offer on Marvel Rivals.
