Google is preparing to hold its annual Google I/O developer conference next week, and of course, it will be all about AI. The company made no secret of it. Since last year’s I/O, it has launched Gemini, its new, more powerful model intended to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and tested new features for search, Google Maps, and Android. Expect to hear a lot about it this year.
Google I/O kicks off on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. Eastern with a keynote keynote. You can watch it on Google’s site or on its YouTube channel via the live stream link also embedded at the top of this page. (There is also a version with an American Sign Language interpreter.) Allow plenty of time for this; I/Os tend to last a few hours.
