Other components such as Privacy Sandbox, Health Connect, and File Integrity are also expected to receive upgrades when the update rolls out to users later this year.
In a blog post on Friday, Google revealed that the first Android 15 developer preview is now available for Pixel smartphones. These releases are unlikely to contain new user-facing features or interface changes: they are intended for developers to test their apps on the latest version of Android which is still in development and are expected to contain bugs.
With Android 15, apps will be able to increase camera preview brightness with new low-light improvements and precisely control flash intensity with advanced flash strength adjustments, according to Google . It will also allow a smartphone to be used as a virtual MIDI 2.0 device using a composer application to control a synthesizer application.

Privacy Sandbox – Google’s new system allowing developers to serve targeted ads claiming to preserve user privacy – is also getting an upgrade with Android 15. Health Connect will also support “new types of fitness data , nutrition and much more,” the company says. .
Android 15 also contains new application programming interfaces (APIs) that can protect users from malware or changes to their files, leveraging a powerful feature of the Linux kernel. The company says another developer preview will arrive in March, and Android 15 betas will begin in April. Users who want to try the next version of Android can try the public betas, but it is generally recommended to install them on a secondary smartphone. Platform stability is expected to be achieved by June, meaning no new features or major changes will be made to the operating system beyond this stage, according to Google.
