Nexus Mods removed a mod that changed the gender of a character in a same-sex relationship in Baldur’s Gate 3 and banned the account that uploaded it.
The mod, called Ser Aylin (no longer available on Nexus Mods but a version has been archived on the Wayback Machine), targets Lady Aylin and transforms her into a “fully immersive male version” of herself by changing her model, using AI to modify actor Helen Keeley’s voice performance and change NPC lines of dialogue.
Following user Yedlike’s upload of Ser Aylin to Nexus Mods on December 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 fans protested the mod and asked others not to support it, noting that it was part of a larger mod pack called No Alphabets. On December 4, Nexus banned Yedlike for violating its community guidelines.

“This appears to be a throwaway account created to download a mod that attempts to circumvent our community guidelines,” Nexus said in its ban notice. The site further supported its decision to remove the mod and Yedlike, stating that it stands for inclusiveness and diversity and will “take action” against anyone uploading mods contrary to these values. “We have the right to choose what content we want to host or not host on our platform,” Nexus concluded.
The No Alphabets mod pack has not been uploaded to Nexus Mods, but can be easily found hosted on another site by Google. Its creator’s description shows the pack’s true intention: to ensure that “the gender and sexuality of the world’s NPCs match the medieval status quo” by erasing all LGBTQ+ characters. The same creator has another mod that “revamps” Wyll to make him white.
Lady Aylin is revealed to be in a relationship with the cleric Isobel during Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3.
