Nearly eight years after working together in “Dilwale”, actors Kajol and Kriti Sanon are reuniting for the Netflix film “Do Patti”, the streaming service announced in a statement on Wednesday. The upcoming film marks the first production of writers Kanika Dhillon and Sanon under their new banners, Kathha Pictures and Blue Butterfly Films, respectively. Dhillon, whose films include “Kedarnath”, “Manmarziyaan” and “Haseen Dillruba”, said she hopes her production house becomes a platform that “empowers stories and storytellers”.
“I am excited to embark on this new adventure as a producer. ‘Do Patti’ is a captivating story that is close to my heart as a writer. According to Netflix, “Do Patti” is a “gripping mystery thriller set in the hills of northern India.” Kajol, who has previously starred in the streaming platform’s films ‘Tribhanga’ and ‘Lust Stories 2’, said she is excited to team up with the streamer again. “‘Do Patti’ has a remarkable storyline that promises a unique blend of adventure and mystery. It is a story that is not only rooted in India, but also promises thrills that can be enjoyed by fans entertainment beyond borders,” added the actor. .
Sanon said “Do Patti” holds a special place in her heart, as it marks her debut as a producer. She announced the launch of her Blue Butterfly Films banner on Tuesday evening. “I felt deep down that I was ready to shift gears and do more. I’m thrilled to collaborate with the very talented Kanika Dhillon as a producer and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Netflix for this magical journey.”
