OnePlus 12 to fix OnePlus 11 flaws, new leaks

The OnePlus 12 is coming soon – depending on the rumor you’re following, it will be announced in December or January (although it’s unclear whether there will be a single global announcement, or a separate announcement for China initially , like last year).

If you looked at the OnePlus 11 but felt that it was missing some features that you consider absolutely necessary for a phone, here’s some good news. It looks like the OnePlus 12 will fix all of its predecessor’s flaws, according to a new rumor from the usually reliable Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

Unlike the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus 12 would have wireless charging support, at 50W no less. It also apparently packs USB 3.2 support into its USB-C port and an IR blaster. As previously reported, it will receive a “high-quality periscope” zoom lens, with 3x optical zoom and a 64 MP sensor.

These are all things that the OnePlus 11 was missing, and their addition to the OnePlus 12 will apparently make it one of the most premium devices to carry the OnePlus name. That said, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if a price hike accompanied the expanded spec list.

According to previous rumors, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 16GB or 24GB of RAM, at least 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 5,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. Expect a 6.82-inch QHD+ display at 120Hz with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, and of course Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 on top.
