Iconic children’s television channel Nickelodeon is launching a nostalgia-instilled NFT collection based on two of its most iconic shows, Rugrats and Hey Arnold!
The collection, which is simply dubbed ‘Rugrats + Hey Arnold!, is created in partnership with NFT platform RECUR, with 12 1/1 NFTs based on characters from both shows such as Angelica, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie, Arnold, Gerald, Helga, Phoebe, Harold, and Rhonda. The original artwork of each NFT will be hand-drawn, and each character will come with an iconic outfit of theirs to optimize the owners’ transportation back in time.
The way in which the assets can be acquired is through a 24-hour auction on OpenSea which begins at 2PM ET on July 15th. Bids must be made in Ethereum, with the starting price being the ETH equivalent of $50.
In becoming one of the lucky 12, auction winners will also receive a free Nickelodeon NFT Pack, a RECUR Pass, and a physical replica of their NFT. The perks relate to the company’s all-encompassing NFT project, the ‘Nickelodeon NFT‘ drop, which launches on July 18th for a select number of RECUR Pass Holders before being released to the public via a general sale on July 19th.
In speaking on the company’s role in Nickelodeon’s plunge into Web3 (which has even seen the launch of its own NFT-centric Twitter page) RECUR’s CEO Zach Bruch had this to say:

Building the Nickelodeon NFT experience transported me back to some of the best childhood memories like sitting on the couch, enjoying Nick cartoons after school with friends. The Nick Web3 experience will bring fans back to those incredible and nostalgic moments. I am thrilled that the RECUR platform will bring these iconic characters into the metaverse.”
